Choosing the right
flooring is often a matter of colour and texture, but finding the most
suitable flooring for your room can really make a difference.
- Choosing your
flooring
Consider the usage of the floor -
How
much time do you spend in the room?
Wear and tear is an important factor for your floor to cope
with.
Do you live in a house or flat? How much of the outside
world will make it in to your house and on to your floors?
Families, friends and pets? More people mean more wear
on your floor and children seem to love spilling their drinks.
Pets with claws and teeth love floors too.

Room by room -
Lounge
Probably the most important room since we spend most of our
time at home in it. Balance appearance with durability and a
little luxury.
Dining Room
Separate dining room are lightly used, so need lighter,
yet stain resistant floors.
Bedroom
Here we think more of luxury and looks, rather then practicality
- soft, deep pile carpets are most popular here. Children's
rooms need to blend a kindness to delicate skin with a need
for tough cleaning abilities.
Hall, stairs and landing
Hardwearing floors are needed here to cope with constant foot
traffic and frequent contact with the outside world of dirt.
Bathroom
Many modern carpets can cope well with water, causing less damage
with a softer, warmer touch. Waterproof floors, however, a still
best suited here.
Kitchen
Easy-care stain resistant carpet tiles can be used, buy the
ease of cleaning vinyl is by far the easier option in this floor
unfriendly area. |
